Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted through the Journal of Advanced Intelligent Systems (JAIS) online submission system. Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The journal accepts high-quality manuscripts written in English that contribute to the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Internet of Things (IoT), Explainable AI, Smart Systems, and related fields.

All submissions will undergo an initial editorial screening, plagiarism checking, and a Double-Blind Peer Review process.

Manuscript Information

Each manuscript must clearly include the following information:

  • Title
  • Full Name(s) of Author(s)
  • Affiliation(s)
  • ORCID ID(s) (recommended)
  • Email Address(es)
  • Abstract
  • Keywords

Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. Avoid abbreviations whenever possible.

Abstract

The abstract should be written in a single paragraph and contain:

  • Background of the study
  • Research objective
  • Methodology
  • Main findings
  • Significant contributions

The abstract should be between 150–250 words and should not contain citations, figures, or tables.

Keywords

Authors should provide 3–7 keywords that accurately represent the manuscript's content.

Introduction

The Introduction should provide the research background, problem statement, review of relevant literature, research gap, research objectives, and significance of the study.

Authors should clearly explain the novelty and contribution of their work to the advancement of intelligent systems and related technologies. The Introduction should be written as a coherent narrative without excessive subdivisions.

Research Methods

The Methods section should describe the research design, datasets, experimental setup, algorithms, models, software tools, hardware specifications (if applicable), evaluation metrics, and data analysis procedures.

For studies involving Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, authors should provide sufficient detail regarding:

  • Dataset sources and characteristics
  • Data preprocessing procedures
  • Model architecture
  • Training and testing procedures
  • Hyperparameter settings
  • Evaluation methods
  • Computational environment

The methodology should be described clearly enough to enable replication and validation of the research.

Results and Discussion

The Results section should present the findings objectively and systematically.

Results may be supported by:

  • Tables
  • Figures
  • Graphs
  • Flowcharts
  • Performance comparisons
  • Confusion matrices
  • Visual outputs

All visual materials must be numbered consecutively and accompanied by descriptive captions.

The Discussion should interpret the findings by:

  • Comparing results with previous studies
  • Explaining theoretical and practical implications
  • Discussing strengths and limitations
  • Highlighting the contribution of the study
  • Explaining potential real-world applications

Results and Discussion may be presented as separate sections or combined into a single section depending on the nature of the research.

Conclusion

The Conclusion should summarize the key findings and contributions of the study.

Authors should clearly state:

  • The main outcomes of the research
  • Scientific and practical implications
  • Recommendations for future research

The Conclusion should be concise and should not introduce new data or references.

Acknowledgment

Authors may acknowledge funding agencies, institutions, research groups, laboratories, or individuals who contributed significantly to the completion of the research.

Conflict of Interest

Authors should disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that may influence the research findings or interpretation.

If no conflict exists, authors should state:

"No potential conflict of interest was reported by the authors."

Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to provide information regarding the availability of datasets, source code, software, or supplementary materials used in the study.

Example:

"The data and source code supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request."

References

All citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition citation style.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

References should primarily consist of recent scholarly publications from reputable journals, conference proceedings, and books.

At least 80% of references should be published within the last five years.

Authors are encouraged to cite relevant articles published in the Journal of Advanced Intelligent Systems whenever appropriate.

Formatting Requirements

  • Manuscript language: English
  • Paper size: A4
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Length: 5,000–8,000 words (including references)

Ethical Requirements

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original.
  • The manuscript has not been published elsewhere.
  • All authors approve the submission.
  • All sources are properly cited.
  • No plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification is involved.

For research involving human participants, animals, sensitive data, or ethical considerations, appropriate ethical approval must be obtained and reported in the manuscript.

Artificial Intelligence Usage Disclosure

Authors must disclose the use of Artificial Intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, or similar systems) when such tools significantly assist in manuscript preparation, coding, data analysis, or content generation.

Artificial Intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and validity of the submitted work.
